It’s Officially 2020!
Happy New Year from all of us at IQ Projects!
Happy New Year to all our clients, both new and existing. We would like to thank you for all the support throughout 2019 and we are looking forward to a new year and new decade of exciting commercial architectural glazing projects.
We have been looking back over the year 2019 at main events. The year was filled with exciting award ceremonies, many project completions and new product launches and developments. . .
Vardo opened its doors… or should we say ‘descended’ its doors!
HIRT Swiss Descending Windows were installed to form the curved walls of glass surrounding the whole restaurant, which descend down to reveal a completely open dining area. When these curved glass walls have descended into the ‘parking space’ below ground level, a completely flush threshold is achieved for a sophisticated indoor-outdoor dining experience.
The Vardo restaurant, located in the heart of the Duke of York Square in Chelsea, opened its doors in September 2019, serving a variety of dishes from across the world.
Gilbert-Ash was awarded two awards for The Mayhew Theatre
At the Construction Excellence Awards, the Fit-Out team at Gilbert-Ash were awarded two awards for The Mayhew Theatre Project!
The Mayhew Theatre for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office was a technically challenging design which involved the construction of a hyperbolic paraboloid structure, surrounded by curved glass walls.
The theatre is used by the staff at the FCO as a meeting room and learning facility, but it’s also used as a space to communicate with colleagues across the globe. The oval-shaped glass building provides a dynamic working space for meetings and seminars.
The Royal Opera House won two RIBA Awards!
Stanton Williams worked closely with the client to design one of the most technologically advanced performance spaces in the UK’s capital, incorporating a high degree of flexibility with the latest technology, including state of the art variable acoustic tuning.
At the top floor of the building, a new restaurant and bar were designed which lead out onto the renovated terrace.
The new restaurant was awarded a Restaurant and Bar Design Award in the Heritage Building category.
Rosemoor Studios won a Schuco Excellence Award!
We were delighted to be named the Residential Development Winner at the annual Schueco Excellence Awards for Design and Innovation, for the work carried out by IQ at Rosemoor Studios in Chelsea, London.
Working in tandem with Haptic Architects, IQ revitalised the site of an old townhouse and studio complex by providing aluminium windows and doors for a four-bedroom townhouse and 4 equally impressive luxury apartments.
Internally and externally, the development included a beautiful, yet sophisticated combination of brickwork and precast stone so as to stay congruent with the surrounding area, whilst starkly juxtaposed with the sleek, bronze powder-coated aluminium windows and doors.
The IQ Projects Office and Showroom are closed for the Christmas and New Year festivities until Monday 6th January 2020, when we reopen at 8:30 am.
If you would like to send an enquiry during the times we are closed, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back to you as soon as possible on our return.
