Our retractable glass roof is a cutting-edge system designed for flexibility and scalability. With no limit to the number of modules that can be installed side by side, this system can cover expansive outdoor spaces with ease. The retractable glass roof system is built with a fully thermally broken aluminium frame, ensuring excellent thermal performance, even in larger installations. This design helps maintain interior comfort, minimising heat loss during colder months and preventing overheating in the summer. Additionally, the system’s specialised sealing gaskets offer complete protection from rain and other weather conditions, making it ideal for various climates.
For added convenience and efficiency, our retractable glass roof can be integrated with advanced weather automation features. Wind, rain and heat sensors can be incorporated to automatically adjust the roof system based on weather conditions, ensuring optimal functionality and comfort at all times. Control options include a multi-channel remote or integration with smart home automation systems.
Our Products
MARS® Modern Automated Rooflight System
MARS are bespoke automated rooflight systems developed in-house here at IQ Projects, manufactured and engineered in the UK. With a relatively quick turnaround, it has a lead time of just 10 weeks. Use it to ventilate your commercial area, or create an easy access roof terrace. Here at IQ we revel in a challenging design, and while there are limitations in terms of size and shape, it’s possible to have a circular opening rooflight.
The system is powered by a motor, which are always installed with an easily removable protective cover. If the weight of your rooflight does not exceed 320kg, the standard MARS motor works well. For larger units, a bigger motor can be installed.
Function of the MARS retractable glass roof is as impressive as it’s form. Thermal breaks are incorporated into the frame and cassette, eliminating condensation and effectively trapping heat year-round. Three sets of brush seals are fitted to ensure watertightness, and an integrated weather bar deflects rainwater away from the system from every angle.
This variety of angles is a testament to the true customisability of our products; we will probably be able to integrate it with your existing roof structure, anywhere from a 3 to a 35-degree angle is possible. The switches and buttons are highly customisable too, making it a suitable option for giving you easy access to the controls in a wide range of commercial applications, from traditional to modern.
Smooth and unstated, the system lets the beauty of nature become the subject of discussion, rather than hardware components. The glass is structurally bonded into the sliding frame, ensuring high levels of security for high traffic commercial areas. Do you have a taste for minimalism? Plasterboard can be added to frame the internal workings.
Reassure your guests with an automated weather station, which automatically detects unfavourable weather conditions and automatically closes your rooflight. You can also save precious time and resources with our cloud-based checking system, which identifies faults and allows experts to make determinations about the fix before a site visit has even commenced.
