Glass Roof Systems

IQ

has a broad portfolio of glazed roof solutions for all applications. Recent project briefs have included courtyard infills to listed buildings, atria roofs, opening glass roofs, walk on roofs and large shaped rooflights.

Structural glass roofs can be supported in many ways to ensure your design intent is kept intact. These structural supporting methods can include designs such as glass beams, ornate steel sections or timber depending on the design brief.

If you require an opening element to your frameless glass roof IQ has a range of opening solutions that can be fitted into our structural glass roof designs for either venting, access or bringing the outside in. We also now ofter a retractable glass roof system, allowing for fully bespoke configurations where the entire glazed roof slides open for an impressive indoor-outdoor design.

Modern Automated Rooflight System

S

liding rooflights are an alternative method to allow ventilation into the building while maintaining a minimal frame appearance. The M.A.R.S is a thermally broken, fully automated system with modern performance values, designed to offer specialised opening solutions on a large scale with a very minimal frame.

Many buildings in large cities are making more use of the space available on the roof and creating roof gardens or rooftop external spaces. The M.A.R.S can be used to grant roof access if desired, utilising all available space and creating dynamic outdoor spaces.

Various integrations are available with the M.A.R.S including weather sensors to have the system close when rain is detected, integrations with smart control systems and even remote fault checking on a cloud-based server.

Automated Rising Electric System

T

he ARES rooflight has been designed to offer ventilation to both residential and commercial spaces, at the touch of a button. The thermally broken auto venting rooflight offers unparalleled thermal performances whilst maintaining a minimal design.

The beauty of the ARES is the flexibility in design options, with little to no restrictions on size or shape. Using high quality actuators, hinged rooflights can automatically lift to ventilate the building below. These hinged rooflights require two parallel sides, however, if other shapes are desired IQ can utilise actuators in unique ways. This can include a circular rooflight shape, where the entire structure is lifted upwards to allow ventilation.

When specifying the ARES, in any shape or size, the actuators and fixing details can be concealed within the building finishes for the most minimal design. Many optional integrations are also available to being enhanced functionality in commercial spaces.

INNOVATIVE GLAZING SOLUTION

High-spec Electric Rooflight Automation

U

tilising modern advances in glazing technology, this innovative sliding box rooflight has a fully thermally broken aluminium framing profile and heavy-duty bumper seals to ensure high levels of thermal performance and weather protection. The integrated drainage system on the HERA prevents water build us and ensures water is drained efficiently.

This boy type sliding rooflight has both security fixings and a motor brake for increased security, with the option of incorporating shoot bolts. Laminated inner panes are essential in roof glazing to ensure that in the event of breakage shards do not fall into the space below and injure someone or damage something.

Flexibility in design is key when it comes to glazing and this box rooflight system is no exception, with a  range of configurations, control options, finishing colours and glazing options, the HERA sliding box rooflight is manufactured completely bespoke each time to suit specific design requirements.

INNOVATIVE GLAZING SOLUTION

Retractable Glass Roof

T

his highly engineered glass roof system has no limit of the number of modules that can be used next to each other meaning the system can be used to covers vast outdoor areas.

Our new retractable glass roof is an ideal choice for a range of commercial applications. For any restaurant, bar or hotel with an outdoor seating area, this system enables to space to be functional all year round.

The fully thermally broken aluminium framing ensure high levels of thermal performance and the specially designed sealing gaskets provides complete protection from rain and other elements.

Weather automation integration is available for this roof glazing system including wind, rain and heat sensors. The system can be controlled by a multi-channel remote control or it can be integrated with smart home automation technology for ease of use.

GLASS ROOFS

Opening and Fixed

I

t has been proven that natural daylight has many benefits and IQ offer a comprehensive range of roof glazing systems to suit all shape and size of openings. Singular glass rooflights can be fixed, tilting or sliding. Flush glazed rooflights allow light to flood into the internal spaces whilst achieving a minimal frame appearance, this can be a subtle way of increasing frameless glazing to buildings without making a huge impact on the layout and structure on the property.

These rooflights can feature any of the technical glass products IQ offer. One highly popular option for roof glazing specification is ‘privacy glass’ that can be specified on the walk on rooflights for optional vision through the glass roof.

The Sieger® thermally broken rooflight is also available from IQ to provide a thermally insulated glass unit with the option of a frameless aesthetic. The Sieger® thermally broken rooflight can be manufactured to impressive sizes to create an influx of natural light to the living space below.
