IQ Projects provided bespoke internal glazing, in the form of folding sliding internal partitions, to the Francis Crick Institute. The institute has partnered with the NHS to deliver a large scale vaccine centre as part of the NHS vaccination programme and the addition of our internal glazing systems allowed them to create a meeting room within the centre.

The new centre at the Francis Crick Institute has the capacity to vaccinate up to 1000 people per day and will be staffed by the Crick clinician-scientists, along with additional volunteers from the Crick and its partners who have undergone NHS training in order to safely administer the vaccine. Over 300 researchers and other staff members have volunteered their time as part of the programme, including a number of medically trained scientists.

The vaccination centre was set up in an impressive few weeks, with the institute recognising the importance of the vaccination programme and doing everything they could to help. Prior to the erection of the COVID-19 vaccination centre, the Francis Crick Institute was providing COVID tests for local healthcare staff, supporting the NHS in the wake of the pandemic. The testing programme helped to protect 10 hospitals, 150 care homes and local ambulance services.

The admirable way Frances Crick Institute has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic sets the precedent for other organisations and institutions, encouraging others with the means to volunteer their services. IQ Projects are proud to have been a part of this project and hope to see the vaccine rolled out across the country as soon as possible.
