IQ held a Charity Golf Day at The Buckinghamshire Golf Club to raise money for YoungMinds Charity. The money raised helps YoungMinds to continue services, which include supported housing, crisis helplines, drop-in centres, employment and training schemes, counselling, and befriending.
YoungMinds is an independent national charity that specialises in mental health help and advice for young people as well as their parents and carers. They give advice and information on what to do if you're struggling with how you feel, while also empowering parents and adults who work with young people to be the best support they can be to the young people in their lives.
The golf day had a great turnout with over 32 people participating and 35 individual sponsors!
Upon arrival, each player was handed a goody bag containing various sponsored items including golf balls, tees and refreshments to enjoy throughout the game.
We would like to thank those who sponsored the goody bags; Creative Jam, Crystal Clear Powder Coating, Vetrotech Saint-Gobain, Uxbridge Glass Centre Ltd, Dual Seal, MaGins, Westshore Engineering, PSBK Construction and Technowood UK!
Once all of the guests arrived, breakfast was served in a designated room set aside by The Buckinghamshire golf club which was only steps from the practice putting green and driving range... this is where the competition started!
We then all set off on a two-tee layout, Across the golf course, each hole number marked with a specifically designed sponsor logo and YoungMinds charity logo, to help the teams navigate their way around the course and understand who was sponsoring them!
We would like to thank those who sponsored the holes; Christopher Trigg, Chris Curd Design, Central Window Systems, Jackson Stephen LLP, Zeus Metal, Keller, Chelsea Aluminum, Chicago Glass, Sieger Systems, IFI, Watermark Kitchens, Press Glass, Fire Tech Engineering, Sky House Design Centre, Mondrian and MaGins.
The IQ marketing team were on hand to supply refreshments, sell raffle tickets for the prize giving to follow and make sure there wasn’t any cheating throughout the game! Over 1000 raffle tickets were sold in order to generate more donations for YoungMinds charity, the winners of the raffle tickets won a combination of specialist golf prizes and humour prizes.
Photographer Patricia Ryaner, from Image2photo, was hard at work photographing the players. There were many prizes to be won, with the favorites coming from our amazing raffle prize winners, some of these included quarter pages advertisements, luxury vouchers and many more.
We would like to say a massive thank you to our raffle prize sponsors; HSS, GGR Group, Inside Industry, Obex, Aquabocci, Vetrotech Saint-Gobain, MaGins.
Once the teams had all completed the 18-hole golf course we gathered to have a drink and share stories about the wins and losses on the golf course.
We then all sat down to enjoy a two course BBQ lunch and to announce the winners of the golf and raffle prizes. The laughs came into action for the reveal of the golf prizes, here prizes were given to golfers who showed the best performance. Lastly, a speech was delivered by the IQ marketing department to share more information about YoungMinds and send thanks to everyone who sponsored and organized the event. We would like to say a big thank you to all the companies who sponsored as well as all the teams who took part and made it such a good day!
With special thanks to The Buckinghamshire Golf Course.
In total, we raised nearly £10,000 for YoungMinds Charity, a great sum of money which will be going to a great cause!
