Specialist Glazing Designed for Marylebone Lane hotel

Bespoke glazing package for central London Marylebone hotel.

3 1IQ Projects is currently on-site at the new build hotel, Marylebone Lane Hotel.  The new hotel is a central London hotel which has undergone recent architectural development to elevate the interior and exterior design of the prominent London building.

Previously the site was a central London car park, in 2019 Westminster council grants conditional planning permission, with an opening date pencilled in for early 2023.

The area was previously seen as neglected but as such a prominent area between Marylebone and Oxford Street, this area has now been transformed into a high-rise hotel consisting of 197 rooms with ground-floor restaurants and bars.

EPR Architects

EPR Architects investigated the conceptual design and materiality and aimed for the evolution of the design to respect the existing architecture and character of surrounding sheets Marylebone and Welbeck Street. The entranceway of the apartment building was designed with the intention to match the retail surroundings to create cohesion with the multi-functional building and surrounding retail shops.

IQ Projects worked closely with the hotel developers and EPR architects to come up with the correct bespoke glazing solution to be installed at the central London hotel.

Sieger Super Lux Bi-Folding Doors

Sieger super lux bi-folds were chosen based on the elevated performance and capabilities of the system, the stabilising wind profile makes this glazing solution ideal for mainline commercial properties due to the safety elements it holds.

With the inclusion of the integrated supporting profile the bi-folding door system can reach these impressive heights even in areas with extreme wind loading. Our technical calculation software can easily configure the bi-folding door system based on the height required and the wind load of the Marylebone Lane hotel project.

The Sieger super lux bi-folds were specified to have a bespoke powder coated colour applied, and a sand/mustard colour RAL was chosen for the aluminium framing in order to keep with the interior design of the luxury building as well as keep in style with the exterior colour theme and the elegant gold sculptural entrance.
