The Restaurant and Bar Design Awards is a globally recognised competition dedicated to the design of restaurants and beverage spaces. The award is divided into UK awards and international awards where the International Awards and UK Awards are judged against each other.

The winner of each category will be announced on the 3rd October in an award ceremony held at Kings Cross. The awards ceremony is an event focused on celebration, innovation and networking, and brings in some of the world’s most influential designers.

Box Windows

The Bar at Level 5 saw a vast renovation during the Royal Opera House’s ’Open Up Project’, which saw the space literally opened up with large full height windows. The structurally glazed windows were designed with a contemporary, minimalistic aesthetic that provides a unique living décor to the restaurant dining area.

Oriel windows at the Royal Opera House

Three floor to ceiling window box seats were installed to the wall between the terrace and the restaurant’s dining area. These Oriel windows were designed to connect these two spaces and help to improve the level of natural light within the restaurant. The contemporary aesthetic of these frameless, structural glass boxes provides the Royal Opera House with a modern twist. IQ detail these bespoke windows to create the most minimalistic aesthetic possible.

The Restaurant and Bar Design Awards 2019 have their awards ceremony on the 3rd of October, we anticipate the results of these awards! Read more about the Royal Opera House project here.
