European Athletics Headquarters
his project required specialist glazing to reflect the innovative, forward-thinking company housed within the building. The European athletics headquarters makes a striking impact with slim framed sliding doors and structural glazing wrapping around all four sides of the building.
Corner to corner glazing is used on every edge, adding elegance and continuity from every angle. The fully glazed design pushes architectural boundaries, creating a stark contrast with the surrounding, more traditional buildings.
The sliding door systems from panoramah! were the ah!60 triple glazed system. The ah!60 system allows even larger sizes to be achieved, perfectly suited to commercial settings. Particularly in office buildings, natural light is key to implementing a positive, proactive working environment.
The use of oversized glass as the main construction material gives the building a welcoming, transparent appearance throughout the day, reflective of the working environment within. Once the sun sets the building becomes a beautiful illuminated structure, eye-catching for any passers-by and visible from afar.
Multiple sets of sliding doors are used throughout, granting access to terraced balcony areas in places. The four-storey building has a distinct overhang on every floor, offering solar shading to the glazed walls below.
Inside the offices, metal handrails are placed in front of the opening elements, acting as safety barriers on the higher floors. The sporadic placement of opening elements amongst fixed glazing offers added ventilation on top of the sleek design.
