Floral Street Peloton London Studio

IQ

Projects designed and installed a bespoke glass shopfront to this retail project in Central London. The Retail store, Peloton was renovated and redesigned with a new glass frontage using bespoke architectural glass walls and doors, in a bid to reinvent the prolific Floral Street.

The scheme was created by Brimelow McSweeney Architects. The 22,000 sq ft retail space was designed to have different purposes based on the function of the rooms.

The ground floor space consists of a treadmill studio and spin studio of approximately 1,200 square feet, reception, and lounge areas for studio customers, as well as a space displaying Peloton equipment, apparel, and accessories.

A bespoke glass shopfront was specified to create a productive well-lit environment, which promotes Peloton as a brand. These steel glazing solutions were chosen for the unique redesign of the flagship retail store in London, which also included specialist Terracotta tiles which were designed by Darwen to complement these steel glazing elements.

The steel doors were designed into a symmetrical configuration which consists of hinged opening door with a top light. The base of the doors has a solid kick plate which was designed to a height that lined up with the finishing level of the complementing windows on either side.

These high-specification steel doors were completed with a rounded and minimal pull handle to match the architectural design and interior scheme created a specialist glass shopfront; the minimal steel sightlines maintain a modern industrial design whist the thermal break and highly insulated glass ensure the doors achieve high levels of performance.

The fixed steel framed casement window comprised of two panes which were connected by a minimal silicone joint which revealed an ingress on the interior; in this space a bespoke seating area was designed to make use of the functionality of the fitness store.

Steel-framed glazing was used within the glass shopfront to create an industrial theme to the exterior elevation of the retail store, the industrial steel frames not only add to the aesthetic but also allow a huge amount of natural light to flow through the commercial space thanks to the slim metal frames and the large pane sizes of glazing.
