Rosemoor Studios
were contracted to provide the aluminium window and door package to this luxury residential development in London. The project entailed the demolishment of the existing old townhouse and studios, to be replaced by a 4000 sq ft townhouse and 4 luxury apartments.
The building was in Chelsea and in the heart of the conservation area, therefore, special care was taken by the architects to keep the building in context. The external elevation was created using precast stone and coal-fired pale bricks, in keeping with the surrounding buildings.
All the aluminium windows and doors were finished in a specialist bronze powder coat which both encompassed the luxury design of the building and worked well with the light external palette of the building.
A key element of the design was the use of full height ‘slot’ windows within the external façade. These tall aluminium windows and opening doors were created using Schuco profiles. They were used for fixed windows, aluminium casement doors and full height tilt and turn windows.
At the rear of the elevation, the luxury apartments benefited from various installations of our minimal windows® 4+ sliding doors. These slim framed sliding units have a 26mm sightline at the interlock and are frameless on all other edges. This is the upgraded version of the standard minimal windows® system and can hold a triple glazed unit. The upgraded system can achieve much higher levels of thermal insulation, up to a Uw value of 0.6 W/m2K. The slim sliders were powder-coated in the same bronze finish as the Schuco windows to create a full and cohesive aluminium window package.
We worked with both the architect, client and contractor to ensure the glazing package was in keeping with the original design, to budget and installed effectively.
