his stunning wedding venue combines modern and traditional elements to create a unique interior design, including steel glazing systems, aluminium sliding doors and wooden beams spanning the width of the ceiling. The barn style building utilises Mondrian steel framed glazing systems in the form of window arrangements and slim framed steel doors.

Steel framed window and door systems can be seen on two elevations of the large venue, with bespoke glazing bar designs to add an art deco style to the traditional space. The slim steel profiles allow tonnes of natural light into the space, without compromising on thermal performance thanks to the thermally broken frames.

Bespoke window arrangements were specified to achieve a unique glazing design, with a mix of fixed and opening systems presenting a uniform finish. Double opening steel doors have been used to provide multiple access points between the indoor and outdoor areas of the venue, with flush thresholds to allow step-free travel. The same glazing bar design is used across the doors, windows and fixed elements of glazing for a coherent finish.

At the head of the room, double height sliding glass doors have been specified in a oversized system. The aluminium sliding doors have been powder coated in black to mimic the appearance of steel systems, with only subtle visual differences between the aluminium and steel systems.

Aluminium is preferable for sliding systems due to its lightweight, low maintenance properties. Thanks to the latest advances in glazing engineering, IQ are able to manufacture aluminium systems that look almost identical to steel. The oversized sliding doors were designed with applied glazing bars, to create a steel look without compromising the thermal performance of the glass.

On the rear elevation, aluminium tilt and turn windows were specified to allow ventilation into the space without opening the doors, which was imperative to maintain the privacy and control any external noise during a wedding celebration. For weddings in the warmer months, the oversized sliding doors can be slid open to create an indoor-outdoor space.

The stunning location has been enhanced greatly by the traditional style glazing systems, adding to the original charm of the building. The brightly lit space is perfect for wedding ceremonies and receptions, with a flexible design to suit a range of themes.
