Warwick Hall Listed Church Extension
Heritage
Warwick Hall
arwick Hall recently underwent a large redevelopment, extending the community space attached to the Grade II Listed Church. IQ Glass installed all of the glass to this listed building including structural glass roofs, frameless clerestory windows, and slim framed sliding glass doors, all designed for a minimal aesthetic to protect the integrity of the listed building design.
Old twentieth-century extensions of this building were demolished to allow a new hall and ancillary accommodation to be built that would complement the existing Warwick Hall.
Large slim framed glass sliding doors have been installed onto the entrance of the hall as well as a set of aluminium casement doors. These windows have been sandblasted in certain areas to show that they are a window, providing added safety due to the transparency and slim framing possibly causing injury.
These slim framed windows have also been installed below the frameless glass roof that connects the new extension to the listed church. Having both of these creates a glass wall that allows the space to be full of light throughout the day. Glass balustrades have been installed on the staircase to enhance the light intake into the area, letting it flow down the stairs.
Glass sliding doors have been used to create an entranceway to the balcony. Glass balustrades have also been installed on the balcony area to create a safety barrier while still allowing light to pass through and into the building.
Rooflights have been installed along the ceiling in the hall due to lack of space for windows on the slanted walls. Clerestory windows have also been installed in this area to provide more light into the space. These windows also show views of the church and other scenery.
