The annual and highly anticipated AJ (Architects Journal) Architecture awards 2023 are soon to begin with a great handful of projects from across the world of architecture being shortlisted in their respective categories.
At IQ we readily await the shortlists for the AJ architecture awards with the hope that our work has been recognized in the world of architecture.
This year we are delighted to announce that two of our great projects have been shortlisted.
The first falls under the Cultural Project Awards. Gainsborough House is a community driven renovation project which has molded the small community of Sudbury together. Increasing light and accessibility was a key focus of this glazing package. Gainsborough House is a café and art gallery space making it ideal for hosting community events to showcase local artists’ talent. The Grade 1 listed building features various installments of fixed glazing on both the upper and lower floors, while the lower café space has a three track ultra slim sliding door system installed for full indoor to outdoor flow.
The second project nominated is Lea Bridge Library. Lea Bridge has been shortlisted for the Civic Project
Award and is one of our most famous and highly regarded installations. In the heart of East London Lea Bridge had undergone an extension which expanded the learning space making room for a café and further reading areas. The timber extension has been paired with floor to ceiling curved and structural glass creating a seamless glass façade for all to enjoy.
Once again it is a pleasure to be nominated for such prestigious awards and we are eagerly awaiting the results.
