IQ Projects worked on the glazing at this expansive hotel and resort in rural the North Cotswolds
Feldon Valley is a 4 star retreat based in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the North Cotswolds. With acres of scenic countryside views from all of the 25 contemporary lodges, an 18 hole golf course and a contemporary fine dining restaurant, the hotel is the perfect place for a countryside getaway.
A bespoke glazing package was designed for the high end hotel, including slim framed sliding glass door systems and frameless structural glass as well as large internal screens. The scenic retreat uses large elevations of oversized glazing to capitalize on the surrounding picturesque views. Many of the modern lodges feature slim framed sliding doors with fixed gable end glazing above the opening elements, allowing indoor and outdoor areas to be fully merged when the doors are slid open.
The highly glazed lodge designs create a luxurious aesthetic that is both practical and stylish due to the thermally broken systems that deliver high levels of thermal and weather performance. In the main hotel, fixed internal screens create clear divides between communal areas, without obstructing the light or views from travelling freely through the space.
Slim framed or frameless glazing systems are perfect for use in modern hotel locations, due to the flexible designs that are suited to a range of hotels from contemporary to traditional. The glazing package from IQ can incorporate any number of systems, from glazing technologies such as heated glass to full frameless glass facades.
The regional division of IQ worked on the Feldon Valley project. With regional offices in multiple areas across the UK, the team at IQ are equipped to take on new projects and provide bespoke glazing packages to enhance luxury hotels.
